一種雙向使能的負(fù)壓低壓差線性穩(wěn)壓器

摘要: 設(shè)計(jì)實(shí)現(xiàn)了一種可以雙向使能的負(fù)壓低壓差線性穩(wěn)壓器(LDO),。首先介紹了傳統(tǒng)的負(fù)壓LDO基本架構(gòu)及工作特點(diǎn),根據(jù)負(fù)壓LDO的應(yīng)用場景,,提出負(fù)壓LDO的使能需要雙向使能,。其次展示傳統(tǒng)的使能電路和提出的雙向使能電路,并按照正壓啟動(dòng)和負(fù)壓啟動(dòng)兩種情況分析,。最后該負(fù)壓LDO芯片基于350 nm CMOS工藝設(shè)計(jì)制造,,測試結(jié)果顯示,該負(fù)壓LDO在使能信號大于0.6 V小于5 V區(qū)間和大于-5 V小于-0.9 V區(qū)間內(nèi)可以實(shí)現(xiàn)雙向啟動(dòng),,且使能電路在正壓啟動(dòng)過程中消耗電流873 nA,,在負(fù)壓啟動(dòng)過程中消耗電流219 nA。

Abstract: This article presents the design and implementation of a negative-voltage low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) with bidirectional enable functionality. Firstly, the fundamental architecture and operational characteristics of the conventional negative-voltage LDO are introduced. Based on the application scenarios of the negative-voltage LDO, the necessity for bidirectional enable is put forward. Subsequently, the traditional enable circuit and the proposed bidirectional enable circuit are demonstrated, and analyses are conducted for both positive-voltage startup and negative-voltage startup scenarios. Finally, the negative-voltage LDO chip is designed and fabricated in a 350 nm CMOS process. The test results indicate that the negative-voltage LDO can achieve bidirectional startup within the enable signal range of greater than 0.96 V and less than 5 V, as well as greater than -5 V and less than -0.9 V. Moreover, the enable circuit consumes a current of 873 nA during the positive-voltage startup process and a current of 219 nA during the negative-voltage startup process.

引言

隨著集成電路的發(fā)展,,物聯(lián)網(wǎng)與便攜設(shè)備的應(yīng)用越來越廣泛,,而這些設(shè)備都離不開電源管理芯片[1]。電源管理芯片的主要作用是隔離外部電源的波動(dòng),,提供穩(wěn)定的輸出電壓供給芯片[2],。在電源管理芯片中,低壓差線性穩(wěn)壓器因其集成度高,、功耗低,、電源抑制能力強(qiáng)、噪聲小而備受關(guān)注[3-5],。

傳統(tǒng)的低壓差線性穩(wěn)壓器一般工作在正電壓域,,即電源電壓大于零[6]。而在某些特殊應(yīng)用場景中,,如通信和基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施,、醫(yī)療健康、工業(yè)儀表等領(lǐng)域,,會出現(xiàn)負(fù)電壓的情況,,需要低壓差線性穩(wěn)壓器提供負(fù)電壓[7-9]。通常情況下,,負(fù)壓電路和正壓電路會同時(shí)出現(xiàn)在電路系統(tǒng)中,,這些電路統(tǒng)一受中央處理器(MCU)的使能控制。

但是MCU只能輸出正壓使能信號,,這就對負(fù)壓LDO提出了要求,,需要負(fù)壓LDO既能在負(fù)壓使能信號下啟動(dòng),也要在正壓使能信號下正常啟動(dòng)[10-12],。

為了實(shí)現(xiàn)負(fù)壓LDO的雙向使能,,本設(shè)計(jì)基于互補(bǔ)型金屬氧化物半導(dǎo)體(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, CMOS)的工作特點(diǎn),提出一種可以雙向啟動(dòng)的使能電路,。首先介紹了負(fù)壓LDO的基本結(jié)構(gòu),,并根據(jù)雙向使能信號的電壓特點(diǎn),基于350 nm工藝,,設(shè)計(jì)并制造出可以雙向使能的負(fù)壓LDO,,最后進(jìn)行測試驗(yàn)證,,總結(jié)結(jié)論。
